Accountancy Assistant

Β£26,845 - Β£29,439 per annum

Home working contract

37 hours per week

Temporary Contract to 31st December 2026

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and capable team player to assist with providing a pro-active, customer focused financial support service to Members, the Corporate Management Team, and budget holders.

The role includes assisting the Operations Accountant in the control of insurance claims, dealing with the co-ordination and control of new and ongoing claims. You will also be required to ensure that creditors are paid correctly through the financial system, you will provide assistance to e-Financials users, checking, authorising and balancing batches, setting up new creditors, running and balancing reports and processing payments, deducting and balancing sub-contractor payments and dealing with creditor queries. Other duties include ensuring that consolidated invoices are re-charged, credit card payments are checked and posted, and direct debits transactions are completed in an accurate and timely manner.

The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification is desirable, but not essential. The successful candidate should have experience in a busy financial environment, be able to demonstrate competence in a range of IT applications including Microsoft Office and financial systems andbe able to produce accurate work to strict deadlines.

This is a home working contract, and the majority of duties will be carried out at home, however, employees will be contractually required to attend site on two days per month for team meetings, 121 meetings, etc. Employees may also be required to attend a site for meetings, collaborative work or to undertake work related activities. Site attendance will constitute no more than 40% of working time and includes the contractual 2 days per month.
