Early Year’s Practitioner Level 3: Maternity Cover

Start Date: April 18th 2026

Grade C: £10.98 per hour

We are seeking to appoint a confident, creative Early Years Practitioner/Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our Early Years team. The role will involve supporting all aspects of provision within our Nursery class, facilitating sustained shared thinking and characteristics of effective learning, taking responsibility for reading and phonic groups, and implementing tailored intervention programmes where appropriate.

Candidates will need to have a genuinely child-centred approach and demonstrate a strong understanding of effective Early Years practice and pedagogy. You will need to be passionate about outdoor learning in all weathers and be flexible and creative in your approach.

We are seeking someone who is committed to inclusive Early Years practice, has a passion for working with young children and a good understanding of how to apply the EYFS curriculum successfully. The successful applicant will be a committed, ambitious but reflective practitioner, keen to play an active part in the further development of our school.

Please note hours and working pattern required:

Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 8.30 – 3.30

26 hrs per week, 38 wks per year

This is a fixed term appointment to cover maternity leave
