Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an IT Officer, to join the NDMRB-BDI IT Services Team, at the Nuffield Department of Medicine, based on the Old Road Campus in Headington, Oxford
You will provide 1st and 2nd level technical support to users within a variety of Institutes of the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine (NDM). This involves the key responsibilities of responding to IT incidents and service requests within agreed service standards, explaining services provided and troubleshooting problems as necessary. You will work as an Associate of Medical Sciences Division IT Services (MSD IT), which provides 3rd line and infrastructure support and services.
It is essential that you hold a degree level qualification or equivalent and have commercial or academic IT support experience. Knowledge, intellectual capacity, reasoning and analytical skills, equivalent to those of a graduate. Proven experience in 1st and 2nd line support of Windows 10, 11 and Apple desktops and laptops and have a broad range of technical experience and skills. You will have a thorough understanding of desktop and laptop hardware and the ability to distinguish between hardware and software faults, and the ability to diagnose and resolve problems with a wide range of software applications particularly the Microsoft Office suite.
